3-star lakeside resort offering 13 rustic cabins and winter access by snowcat

Accommodations

Paulina Lake Lodge And Resort offers 13 rustic cabins located directly on Paulina Lake. These cabins are nearly a hundred years old and are heated solely by wood-burning fireplaces, with a maul provided for chopping kindling. Guests should bring their own hairdryer, tissues, shampoo, and drinking water, as the tap water has a sulphuric smell due to the volcanic geothermal activity.

Activities & On-Site Rentals

The resort provides boat, kayak, canoe, and paddleboard rentals for guests to explore the lake. A fully stocked store sells snacks, propane, and other essentials, though hours are limited to 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Free parking, boat launching, and trailer parking are included with a stay.

Dining

The on-site restaurant and full bar serve lunch and dinner, with specials including $6 Margaritas on Wednesdays paired with a taco bar and Prime Rib dinners on Saturdays. Diners can order fish tacos, fish & chips, or an elk burger, and the waitstaff accommodates dairy allergies. Dinner reservations are required for the Saturday Prime Rib dinner.

Entertainment & Seasonal Access

Live music is held on the lawn throughout the summer. During winter months, the lodge is snow-locked from 5 to 6 months of the year, and access is by snowcat, which picks up guests on time and transports luggage on a separate rig. Outside fires are allowed in pits in front of the resort during January.

Location & Nearby Attractions

The resort sits at 6,500 feet elevation on Paulina Lake, a volcanic lake with geothermal hot springs accessible via a 2.2-mile hike. Paulina Falls is a short 0.25-mile walk from the lodge. Redmond Municipal Airport is 83 km away.

“This lakeside setting, nestled within a volcanic landscape, offers a deeply peaceful retreat where rustic cabins meet stunning natural beauty.
